    Jerry is an experienced development economist with a strong background in working with marginalized groups in the areas of entrepreneurship development, cooperative development and strengthening, resource mobilization and financial inclusion. Prior to joining Cuso international, Jerry was the Director of Programs, Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE–Africa). He holds a Masters’ degree in International Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University, United States and International Certified Credit Associate from Post Graduate Credit Management College, UK.

    Joseph has over 25 years of experience in finance and administration. He has worked with World Vision for many years in several countries and has managed USAID, CIDA, AUSAID, DFID and GOG grants successfully. In addition to his current research project in Entrepreneurship, he holds a B.A. in Accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University, and an Associate Membership (ACA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

    James is an astute Development Professional and socially adroit with over 12 years’ experience in the Development sector across West Africa with focus on Climate change Adaptation, community based natural resource management including; land use planning using participatory methodologies, community forestry, Biodiversity Conservation, resource mapping, livelihood activities for poverty alleviation with forest dependent communities; experience in market development and market chain analysis for agriculture and forest products, Participatory Governance including budget analysis and Gender mainstreaming, High Conservation Value Assessment, Environmental Auditing as well as Social and Environmental Impact Assessments, Entrepreneurship and market chain analysis for agriculture and forest products.

    Prior to taking a position with Cuso International, James was the Project Director of African Research Association, a local Non–Government Organisation in Nigeria. He also coordinated a climate change Network in the South–South region of Nigeria, served as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria and have rendered consultancy services in Ghana, Liberia and South Africa.

    James holds a BSc in Geography and Environmental Science and an MSc in Geography of Forest Ecology from the University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria.

    For the past 6 years, Mark has gained hands–on expertise in entrepreneurship, business development and access to programs for youth⁄ women empowerment with a focus on agriculture, trading and production based enterprises. He also has gained experience in finance and human resources. Mark holds an M.A. in Public Policy and Administration from Bayero University, Kano and a B.Sc. in Political Science from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka Enugu State.

    Godwin has over 10 years of professional experience working for civil society organizations, academia and the private sector such as; Programs Director, the Council for Renewable Energy in Nigeria, Programs Director Green Planet Initiative International, Office Manager Onesky – Canadian Institute for Sustainable Living and Project officer NGO Coalition for the Environment (NGOCE). Through his experiences, he developed advanced project management skills. Mr. Godwin also developed efficient and targeted forest protection programs and was successful in applying research to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of projects. He holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Protection and Resources Management from the University of Calabar and is also a graduate of Onesky’s Integral Leadership Institute.

    Animated by passion, energy and perception, Uko has over 14 years of professional experience as a development programmer, analyst, administrator and leader and has helped to design programs that enhance leadership, team building, and customer service in various sectors. He is an alumnus of the Kimmage Development Studies Centre, Ireland specialized in Project Management, Governance and Accountability. He holds a Certificate in Monitoring and Evaluation from the Sociology department, University of Ibadan and a Master’s Degree in International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid from the Humanitarian Aid Studies Centre, Los Molinos, Almeria– Spain amongst others.

    Joseph Kogi has educational background in International Relations and Strategic studies with 14 years’ hands on Research, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) experience on development programmes for large donors such as; DFID, USAID and Global Fund. With a background of designing and implementing M&E and Leaning systems on; governance, health and social – impact programmes, he is providing the Global Affairs Canada funded Youlead project with a bespoke system cable of recording, producing mid and annual reports whist providing key lessons learnt in line with the project performance framework.

    Mfon holds a B.Sc. degree in Applied Chemistry from the University of Calabar and a Diploma in French language. Her experience as youth facilitator for the “Girl Power Initiative” has carved her ambition for women empowerment. In addition, Mfon’s role as a field support officer for the Women’s Rights Advancement and Protection Alternatives (WRAPA) gave her experience in project development, creating opportunities for Women in the community.

    Cecilia has cumulated over 13 years of experience in administration, empowerment initiatives and alternative dispute resolution techniques in the public and private sector. Her work with internally displaced people, children and vulnerable populations has broadened her view on social and environmental issues. She holds an LL.B, & BL from the University of Calabar and Nigerian Law School respectively. She is currently undergoing a Masters’ Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies at the University of Calabar and conducting a research paper on The Role of Women in Post Conflict Peace Building in Africa.

    Modupe is a registered member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) as well as an associate member of various institutions such as the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Nigeria (ICAN) among others. Having completed a B.Sc. in Insurance, she has gained experience in audit planning and in risk assessment, preparing audit reports including reviewing and analyzing information that supports audit working papers.

    Mary is currently undergoing a Masters’ Degree in Land Resource Evaluation and Planning and holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Protection and Resource Management from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. She has past experience in field operations with project planning and implementation, baseline data collection, development of MEAL framework, building rural entrepreneurship opportunities with community groups as well as environmental awareness programs and gender sensitization. Mary is trained in civic and political education and human rights abuse based on sexual orientation.

Steven has a B.A. in History and International studies and a National Diploma in General and Applied Psychology from the University of Jos, Plateau State.

    Emilia is a trained facilitator on sexual and reproductive health, HIV ⁄ AIDS, gender and life management skills with over 8 years’ experience. With keen interest on social media advocacy, her ICT skills have come in very handy and her experience working with young people has perfected her penchant for developing, planning and executing youth oriented projects. Emilia holds a B.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Calabar.

    Uche is an experienced communications specialist who started her professional career as a Newscaster with Freedom Radio Jigawa State. She proceeded to LEADERSHIP Newspaper in Abuja where she worked for four years. During her time in LEADERSHIP Newspaper, she was privileged to cover activities of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters; and Office of the Head of Service of the Federation.  Prior joining Cuso International, she was working with Cassava: Adding Value for Africa (CAVA II) Project; she was in charge of communications for the five–year project funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation which is implemented in Nigeria, Ghana, Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda. She is a member of Nigerian Union of Journalists.

    Doris is a trained Peace and Conflict Resolution Specialist who has worked extensively in the development sector. She has over 4 years’ experience with Academia, International & Local NGOs in the areas of Human Rights, Environment, Education, Gender and Private Sector. She is experienced in program management, community development, conflict resolution ⁄ mediation ⁄ counselling, writing ⁄ editing, training ⁄ workshop ⁄ event planning and fundraising. Doris has a B.Sc. in International Law & Diplomacy from Babcock University Ogun State, Nigeria; M.Sc. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution in Nova Southeastern University, Florida, USA; and a Certificate in Peace Leadership at the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation, USA.

She graduated from the United States International University-Africa (USIU–A), Nairobi, Kenya. She has had 5 years of experience with international NGOs in Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and South Sudan in the areas of writing and communication, administration and supporting top–level management. She has also developed her capacity in research work and website content development, HR and management. She has basic knowledge of French and Swahili languages.

    Daniella is a Human Resource Professional with over seven years of professional experience working for civil society and the private sector such as Ibafon Oil FZE and Young People’s Initiative. Through her experiences, she has amongst other initiatives organised the first special hearing and parliamentary dialogue at the Nigerian National Assembly on Overcoming Youth Poverty in Nigeria while with YPI and single–handedly introduced staff counselling session on Family–work Life Balance in Ibafon Oil FZE. She holds a B.ED in Extension and Social Development from the University of Calabar and an MBA in Human Resource Management from University of Ghana, Legon.
